Pristine and activated bentonite for toxic metal removal from wastewater

چکیده

Abstract Natural bentonite clay (NBC) was activated using nitric acid (HNO3). Characterization techniques including FTIR, SEM, XRD and BET were employed to examine the morphology of NBC ABC (activated clay) sorbents. Comparative application remove heavy metals (Fe2+, Zn2+, Ni2+) from pharmaceutical effluents investigated under various experimental conditions. The maximum proportional removal by 88.90, 81.80 75.50% at pH 8, 63.90, 59.60, 58.70% 10 for NBC, both Fe2+ Ni2+ respectively. Freundlich multilayer adsorption model pseudo-second-order kinetics best fit data, suggesting formation multiple layers via strong ionic electrostatic interactions. Heavy is more favorable with than due availability sorption sites a larger specific surface. thermodynamic parameters (?H°, ?S°, ?G°) revealed that endothermic spontaneous in nature NBC.

Removal of Toxic Metals from Metal Finishing

An Adsorbent based treatment system is presented for toxic metal removal from rinsewater streams. The adsorbent is a Mg-A1 oxide anion exchange material with high capacity (approaching 5.5 meq/g) and strong selectivity for difficult to treat species such as Electroless plating metal chelates, Fixed Cyanides and chrome conversion solutions. Data is presented describing treatment of various metal...

Engineering Porphyrin Encapsulated Vesicles for Metal Removal from Wastewater

Page 32 Howard University Abstract: The kinetics of Zn metal incorporation into porphyrin encapsulated phosphatidylcholine (PC) vesicles (or liposomes) was studied using spectrophotometry. (Figure 1) Liposomes, made by controlled detergent dialysis, were characterized by multiangle static light scattering to prove that they were unilamellar and monodisperse in size. The average radius of the ve...
